Olive oil is a liquid derived from (the fruit of Olea europaea; family Oleaceae), a classic Mediterranean tree crop. Whole olives are pressed to generate the oil. It is widely used in cuisine, whether as a frying oil or as a salad dressing. It is also used in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and soaps, as well as as a fuel for traditional oil lamps, and in some religions. In order to meet regulatory criteria, olive oil manufacturers must obtain an FSSAI-Food safety license Registration or registration.

Fssai Food License Registration Types
Basic Fssai License / Fssai Basic Registration :
A Basic Food License is essential for food industry operators with small business sizes and for new businesses. A food business with annual revenue of up to 12 lacs can apply for a Basic Food License.
According to the new Foscos Fssai License requirements, a basic Fssai license is for a little business or small business such as a tea stall, small snack or pakora shop, small retailing business, Dhaba, temporary stallholder, petty retailer of snacks, and so on. All food business operators who have or plan to have a yearly turnover of more than 12 lacs must obtain a larger Fssai license, such as a Fssai state license or a Fssai central license, rather than a Fssai basic registration. Fssai’s basic license takes only a few documents such as a pan card, an Aadhar card, and proof of business location (rent agreement, electricity bill, sale deed, and so on) to apply for Fssai registration online. The registration will take 7-10 days to process.
Fssai State License :
A state Fssai license is necessary for every food business operator with an annual turnover of more than Rs. 12 lacs and up to Rs. 20 crores. Manufacturers of food with a daily production capacity of up to 2 metric tonnes can also apply for an FSSAI state license.
According to the new Foscos Fssai License guidelines, Fssai State license is the appropriate category to apply Fssai License for the business such as transporter, manufacturing/processing/repackaging business up to 2 metric tonnes per day production, marketer, wholesaler, distributor, restaurant, caterer, warehouse, storage, supplier, and so on. The documents necessary for Fssai licensing state are more extensive than those required for Fssai basic registration. The whole processing period to obtain the registration is approximately 15-20 days.

Fssai Central License :
For food industry operators with an annual turnover of more than Rs. 20 crore and a production capacity of more than 2 metric tonnes per day, and an FSSAI Central License are necessary. If a food business operator is an importer, exporter, or has their own E-commerce platform, they must additionally apply for an FSSAI Central License.
According to the new Foscos Fssai License guidelines, Fssai Central license is the appropriate category to apply Food License for the business such as Registered Place of Business if the food business operator has units in more than one State, Merchant Exporter, Importer, food business operator with own E-Commerce Platform. If a food company operator sells their food goods through a third-party e-commerce platform such as Amazon, Flipkart, etc., there is no need to file for Fssai Registration under the E-Commerce Category. The number of documents necessary for a fssai license state is greater than the number of documents required for a fssai central registration. The total procedure period for obtaining a Fssai Food License is 25-30 days.
